Local-first architecture and business privacy

Your commercial intelligence stays on your machine.

1. Local SQLite storage

Messages and attachments are stored locally and are never uploaded to Mail Owl servers.

2. System-backed encryption

SMTP passwords, IMAP tokens, and model API keys are encrypted at rest with SafeStorage.

3. Authorized AI processing

Mail content can be sent to the model provider you configure when you explicitly authorize an AI request. Local storage does not mean every AI request stays on-device.

4. Fail-closed protection

If decryption fails, Mail Owl refuses to fall back to plain credentials.
